Tran reportedly spoke to people backstage immediately after the match and admitted that he became confused in the moment, which caused him to stop the count. A blown finish during a live network main event would normally lead to frustration within WWE. However, Tran is reportedly highly respected within the company and is viewed as a credible official by both the locker room and WWE's front office. Tran reportedly made it clear that the botched ending was entirely his responsibility. He did not make excuses or point fingers and instead took full accountability for what happened. Because he is trusted within WWE and is not known for mistakes of this level, the locker room was largely forgiving of the error. The live crowd clearly noticed the unusual pause during the pinfall, but the quick adjustment allowed the show to continue without further disruption. WWE is now looking to move forward from the mistake as the company builds toward a reported triple threat match at Money in the Bank.
